BACKGROUND
The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, founded in 1987, is among the most exciting teams to ever grace the minor professional hockey league. They debuted at the Eastern Conference Hockey League with a roaring bang. They’re the answer to South Carolina’s most passionate hockey fans as they embark on a journey to win gold. The Greenville Swamp Rabbits are also proud affiliates of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings and AHL’s Ontario Reign.
Debuting as the Greenville Road Warriors, the inaugural season ended with a successful 46-22-4 record and won the regular season conference title. Since 2016, this team has qualified for the playoffs nine times – three times as the Greenville Road Warriors and four times as the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. So you can just imagine how on edge and pumped hockey fans are in Greenville, South Carolina. NEWS FOR 2026 SEASON
Moving transactions before the season starts make up most of the excitement as the Greenville Swamp Rabbits ready the team for upcoming games. Earlier this year, the team announced the exciting return of goaltender Mattias Sholl, defenseman Parker Berge, and forward Keaton Mastrodonato. It was also Sholl’s triumphant return. For those who don’t know, Sholl had his first professional run with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits after the NCAA.
Meanwhile, Mastrodonato completed a staggering 158 professional games with a total of 54 goals, 56 assists, and an impressive total of 110 points.
